Thomas Hooper: Eroded Sun - Standard edition

Eroded Sun is based on a painting (approximately the same size as our reproduction) Thomas created for Neurosis' Summer 2016 European tour, designed to be a complement to his artwork he created earlier in 2016 for Neurosis' "Fire Within Fires" album.

Neurosis holds a special place in Thomas' heart and that passion and pressure for him to create something monumental for the band shines through in the multiple layers and textures all hand-drawn, painted and sanded in his original artwork. No computers were used to enhance the original at all.

3... 2... 1... LIFTOFF! This all new out-of-this-world print was designed by Mike Davis for Modist Brewing Co's 3rd anniversary party ... which was also a fundraiser for MN-based science and math education non-profit Reach For The Stars ... and ALSO a group exhibit of space-themed art prints by Twin Cities artists.

Mike's Outer Space print offers a collection of space exploration tools, celestial bodies, and cosmic phenomena which all keep us curious about everything that's way out there.

Mike Davis: DipDipDip Ice Cream print

In September 2019, renowned Austin TX-based chef and restaurateur Tatsu Aikawa opened up DipDipDip, an ice cream shop focusing on daring combinations of Japanese-inspired flavors like black pepper yuzu, caramel chocolate shiitake mushroom, and miso peanut butter and jelly. He hired our own Mike Davis to design a mural made up of brightly-colored characters celebrating ice cream, funky ingredients, fruits, and Japanese and Austin icons. The shop has been a runaway success and we pitched the idea of an art print based on the characters. We're excited to finally get to share this one with you!

This is a SIXTEEN color art print... far and away the most number of ink colors ever featured in one of Mike's prints (his previous record was 6 or 7) and it's super bright and super fun! And yes, that's Vanilla Ice with melted ice cream all over his face.

Test Print: Tools of the Trade

Part of the screenprinting process involves running a few test prints to make sure everything is good to go before committing to the final signed and numbered edition. In order to make sure the artwork lines up evenly with the previously printed layers, the ink color is mixed properly, and the squeegee is pushing the ink through the screen smoothly, we use what are known as test prints. This one-of-a-kind print combines mixed and matched layers from a range of artists and projects, hand-selected for our online store.

This print features layers from Mike Davis and others.

Ben LaFond: Wake Now, Discover...

A beauty of a print from our very own Ben LaFond! Here's the description from the photographer / printer himself...

After spending a solid four hours from 2am to morning twilight yelling obscenities at the sky while watching a glorious display of Aurora Borealis on the North Shore of Lake Superior, I stumbled down to water’s edge to welcome the sunrise. Upon arriving at the beach, the birds were stirring with activity, the lake was pushing its perpetual waves towards the shore, and the early spring melt had just begun to send winter’s runoff down the creek and back into Superior’s arms. I had this entire beach to myself and was still reeling from the evening’s northern lights display, in total awe of the beauty the universe continued to put in front of my eyes. As I strolled the edge of the lake looking for rocks, my eyes caught a glimpse of a small puddle that had frozen just enough in the chill of the evening. Just as the sun was cracking the horizon, the reticulated patterns in the ice revealed themselves in perfect light.

This print was created with six screens and a few press sorcery backflips. It features CMYK, a clear gloss spot varnish, and a very subtle translucent metallic shimmer applied to the ice. The subtlety of the print’s special effects is difficult to capture but it will surely be a treat for your eyes in real life.

Tyler Stout / Cohen Morano: The Rest Is Up To You print

Our very first project with the über-talented Tyler Stout! In early 2009, Tyler created this fantastic illustration, intended for the front cover of Cohen Morano's art book "The Rest is Up to You." The publisher ended up using something else for the cover (bummer!) and we jumped at the chance to produce Tyler's incredible illustration of Cohen and his wild imagination!

A little backstory: Cohen is the son of our friend, illustrator and "Gangsta Rap Coloring Book" author Aye Jay Morano. Over the course of several years, Aye Jay collected Cohen's drawings and watercolor paintings and mailed them off to his artist friends, who were asked to add their own artwork in with Cohen's. Eventually, a substantial collection of these collaborative pieces were amassed, including submissions from Shepard Fairey, Chris Ware, Gary Baseman, Mark Ryden, as well as our own Mike Davis and Todd Bratrud. An exhibit of the best pieces, entitled "Dessert," was put on at our First Amendment Arts gallery and this book followed shortly thereafter.

Each print is hand-embellished by Cohen, who brought the entire run of posters to life with wild and brightly-colored splashes of watercolor paint. No two are like!

These prints are signed by Cohen and unnumbered.

There is a sold out edition of prints which were signed and numbered by Cohen and Tyler Stout in an edition of 150.

Jacob Bannon: Lucky Me BRLSQ edition

Art print created by the great Jacob Bannon (of Deathwish Records / Converge fame) based on his album artwork designed for Killing The Dream's "Lucky Me" album. We screenprinted three different editions of this print, each available through a different online store. We are carrying the metallic blue edition, of which only 100 were made. We've been printing Bannon's fantastic and brutally beautiful artwork for years and are excited to finally get to make it available in our online store!

After the success of the first pairing of Boston-area hardcore band Cable and artist Aaron Horkey, the two have teamed up yet again.
