After years of appreciating Xee's illustration and mural work across the Twin Cities, we're excited to finally be producing and releasing a print with her!
Here's the story behind "10/10" in her own words: I love illustrating food as much as I enjoy cooking and eating. Cooking is an art in itself. The planning, sourcing of ingredients, the order and method of execution all plays a part in the process—even the subsequent mess. In this piece I captured a typical post pho dinner party with simple and straightforward lines contrary to the complexity of the of the cooking process. Each bowl evident of how many people showed up to a booming, chaotic but fun night. 10/10 let’s do it again!
About the Artist:
Saint Paul based illustrator/muralist, Xee Reiter is self-taught and she has been creating art since childhood. From miniatures to murals, hand-drawn food for editorials; cooking shows to hand-sewn textile art, she proudly weaves her ancestral skills into her pieces. Chances are you may have seen some of her work around the Twin Cities and beyond.
