Lots of exciting things going on this weekend. Here's where to catch us...
FRIDAY NIGHT: After the Doomtree Blowout in the First Avenue mainroom, come upstairs to the Record Room as our own Mike 2600 (me) welcomes Doomtree's Paper Tiger to the turntables. Expect a full night of classic hip hop, funk, and bass-heavy dancefloor-filler-uppers, all expertly sliced up for your listening and dancing pleasure.
$5 at the door, $1 crossover from the mainroom.
SATURDAY: We will be selling all sorts of BRLSQ goodies all day alongside a generous handful of local artisans and craftspeople. Check out that monster lineup! This is the perfect place to knock out a bunch of your holiday shopping while supporting hardworking local artists. That's like killing 10 birds with one stone... but not if you're not into killing birds... or whatever. Anyways, the point we're trying to make is that there is gonna be a ton of cool shit here for you to buy for yourself or for your loved ones.
We'll even be debuting a few brand new items as well as selling a wide variety of our (drumroll please) Scratch + Dent prints!
Admission is FREE and all ages are welcome. That's 10am-6pm at CO Exhibitions!

Thank you to everyone who's helped this party keep moving for the last straight year. I couldn't have done it without all of the great guest DJs (Jonathan Ackerman, BK-One, Wezz Winship, Plain Ole Bill, King Otto, Kevin Beacham, Last Word, Espada, Jeff Dubois, Dudley D, Superbrush, Gigamesh, and Babycakes) and the countless party people who've come to dance their asses off each month.
Here's my thank you gift - the official EXTRA LARGE One Year Anniversary Megamix! It's 32 minutes of beats, breaks, original blends, rappin' and handclappin' all rearranged inna cut & paste fashaaaaan. Featuring bits and pieces from Jazzy Jay, Incredible Bongo Band, Ultramagnetic MCs, Kraftwerk, Beastie Boys, Spoonie Gee, Breakestra, Rare Earth, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Tuff Crew, and so much more.

It's been a while since I listened to this one... Coldcut's cut & paste masterpiece from 1987, "Say Kids What Time Is It?" Back to back classic breaks, beats, and snippets and sliced together with the most finesse.
