Obama print
Artist: Wes Winship
Price reduced to $25 for today! All proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross!

After spending the greater part of 2008 printing Upper Playground's series of Obama posters, we were given the honor of designing our very own to then print and add to the collection, which included prints from Ron English, Dave Choe, Morning Breath, and many others. Here is Wes Winship's portrait of a pensive Barack Obama, his face emblazoned with words from his speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Celebrate our 44th president with style!

MGMT: Halloween
Artist: Wes Winship, Mike Davis

Mike and Wes went all out on this print for fantasy rockers MGMT's 2008 Halloween festivities in Brooklyn. This one's got it all - a haunted house, a flowing river of blood, a disemboweled jackal, a blood-barfing jack-o-lantern, a gigantic millipede, a skull bowl, a sorcerer, more blood, a dead guy with frankfurter guts, yeah... this is not for the faint of heart! While designing this one, we definitely had a discussion with the band regarding the art direction of "blood leaking more blood" and they were like "Yes."

Melvins VS Grumpy's print
Artist: Wes Winship

More multi-colored, multi-layered madness from Wes Winship, designed in conjunction with the release of our / Amphetamine Reptile Records' 3CD compilation of The Melvins' live Minneapolis concerts. The Melvins have been performing quite a bit over the last few years thanks to their close relationship with our friends at Grumpy's Bar and we're happy to be a part of documenting their history here.

Minnesota Migration
Artist: Wes Winship, Mike Davis, Dan Black

This poster was created for one of our SXSW 2008 events, a collaborative showcase between Modern Radio Records and Burlesque. A bunch of our favorite Modern Radio acts and other Twin Cities groups played an outdoor showcase down in Austin and rocked it in the pocket. BRLSQOTHEQUE DJs (Mike 2600 & Wezz Winship) spun rap and funk tunes inbetween sets. The artwork for the print was a three-way collaboration between Burlesque's Wes and Mike and our talented friend Dan Black from Landland.

Doomtree Blowout 3
Artist: Wes Winship, Mike Davis

In case you don't live in Minneapolis or have been living underneath some kind of rap rock (not to be confused with Limp Bizkit's spine-tingling brand of "rock-rap"), Doomtree is kinda doin' it real big with the multi-rapper crew explosion. Each year, all members collide and erupt for Twin Cities underground hip hop fanatics and Wes and Mike designed the poster for said collision. Booooom here it is!

Jesu / Fog / Torche tour print
Artist: Wes Winship

We've been listening to Jesu's "Conqueror" album non-stop around the office and were thrilled to design and print not one but two posters for their recent U.S. tour. They're kind of psychedelic mirror images of each other and make a lovely pair. One version has the dates with our good friends Fog (their "Ditherer" album is a fantastic rock album. Download it if you have to, just listen to it.) and heavy dudes Torche.

Lunch Show
Artist: Wes Winship, Mike Davis

On the occasion of local rock record label Modern Radio hosting their 5th annual Lunch Show, a daytime explosion of food, great music, and good peoples, Burlesque designed and printed this deliciously disgustingly decadent poster. Performing this time around were Stnnng!, Signal to Trust, and FT (The Shadow Government). It's a tall one!
