AARON HORKEY "GAPING MAW "
A 2003 Horkey painting, Gaping Maw is reproduced here with Giclee, a fine-art printing process that allows for the most faithful reproductions of color we've found yet. Additionally, since the scanning on these is done with a fancy-schmancy 3D doo-hickey, the appearance of the paint's texture is also captured nicely, allowing the giclee to look as much like a painting as possible. Basically, these are super hott. Signed
and numbered, as well as embossed with Aaron's "Black Osprey" circle logo
on the front. $175 ($150 for Burlesque subscribers - contact Letta),
insurance included.

AARON HORKEY "SELF PORTRAIT 2003"
Aaron's original acrylic painting "Self Portrait 2003" which was featured as the cover image for the City Pages, Minneapolis' own weekly arts and culture paper, and is reproduced
here with giclee, a fine-art printing process that allows for full-color
reproduction to capture the details of Aaron's painting technique in a way
that screenprinting simply could not. Edition of 84 prints on archival
stock, $150.00 each. As these will not be a part of our regular subscription, Burlesque subscribers will be able to get a print at a discounted price of $100.00. Contact Letta for

THE MELVINS / JUXTAPOZ
In the tradition of the last set of Melvins/Grumpy's shows in Minneapolis, Haze XXL of Grumpy's, AmRep and Ox-Op Gallery asked us to team up with Aesthetic Apparatus to design 7" covers and posters for the Juxtapoz Group Openings at the SooVAC and Ox-Op galleries last weekend.

Of course, we love the Melvins, we love Juxtapoz, who were we to refuse? With line art by Horkey setting up the awesome double-central-image and then free reign
on either side for ourselves and AA, we've come up with our second diptych poster.

Four colors, two posters at 18.5"x25" on French paper, and you're gonna get the set of two. Matching numbers, with signatures, stamps, and
numbers on the back of each. Available only as sets, you can get these
posters either here or over at aestheticapparatus.com (same price both
places, ours includes shipping, theirs doesn't).

split up the letters FLATSTOCK 8 and let everyone have at it, let Letta ramble on at the bottom, and printed them on the way out of town.

Flatstock 8 in Austin, TX was a smashing success, super
fun, and totally deserving of all of the beautiful posters that were made to advertise and commemorate it. Posters are signed and numbered on the front by Wes only.

MEL GIBSON AND THE PANTS
I (Wezz) can't for the life of me get over the name "Mel Gibson And The Pants". Like are they trying to make things difficult for themselves? Because they play the fuck out of a show and work really hard on making good music. But then you're stuck thinking of ol' brave passionate road warrior of jesus and his slacks. Anyway, they asked us to make a poster for the release show for their new album "w/ guitar" so Mike Davis and I had a Heavy Session™ of model glue filled turkey basters and 70s wrestling magazines. When our studio mate Brian Severns opened the door to the office after 72 hours, through the haze, he was faced with this masterpiece.

TOYS THAT KILL
What a great line up! Wish I could have been there. We made these for the great Toys That Kill, which is ex-FYP/Todd of Recess Records and co. They play good snotty pop punk that isn't all glossed over like Sum 41 or some shit. With our friends the Soviettes, I'm sure the show was great. I've heard The Fleshies are no slouches either. California BRLSQ branch office head Todd designed it and we printed it here in Minneapolis when he was last in town. We had never heard of this band before they contacted us to do a poster. They sent us some CDs, showered us with compliments, and managed to get us on the phone so we said "What the hey" and did it.
